Perhaps the most important characteristic that sets Platinum Dental Group apart from other dental practices is that it is a family-run business. Dr. Mark Thebaut, founder of Platinum Dental Group, has recruited the efforts of his three college-educated children to ensure that the dental services and customer service that we offer are a cut above the rest.
You can rest assured that the entire Thebaut family works tirelessly to provide you with the best dental care and patient experience possible. In fact, the Thebaut family works in conjunction with the front-office and clinical staff on an ongoing basis to ensure that every need of every patient is tended to. If you ever have a question or concern that is not addressed to your satisfaction by our support team, simply request to speak with a “Thebaut” and your problem will be quickly resolved.

Mark D. Thebaut, D.D.S.
Mark D. Thebaut, D.D.S.
Dr. Thebaut is a board certified pediatric dentist, and he is the founder of Platinum Dental Group and Gwinnett Children’s Dentistry. He completed his undergraduate education at Emory University with a B.S. in 1975. He then entered the Emory University Dental School and graduated from the Doctor of Dental Surgery program in 1979. Dr. Thebaut continued his studies with post-graduate specialty training in the pedodontics program at Emory University. Dr. Thebaut is currently a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association and the Georgia Dental Association.
Quang Nguyen, D.M.D.
Dr. Nguyen attended Georgia State University where he graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. He then pursued his Chemical Engineering degree at the Georgia Institute of Technology where he graduated with Highest Honors. Upon graduation, he attended the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine; while there he also won many awards and was ranked #1 clinician in his class. After dental school he completed three years of post-graduate training in orthodontics at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Nguyen has a strong passion for the dental profession, especially in orthodontics. He treats all of his patients as if they were family members, and he always strives to create a healthy, beautiful smile that his patients deserve.
Dr. Nguyen is married, and he has a daughter and a newborn baby boy. He enjoys spending time with his family and watching Yellow Jackets football.

Madhavi Bhoompalli, D.D.S.
Madhavi Bhoompalli, D.D.S.
Dr. Bhoompalli graduated with a dental degree in India in December, 2001. After graduating, she worked in a Periodontal and Endodontic clinic for a year, also in India. After coming to the United States, she furthered her education by attending NYU where she graduated from the College of Dentistry in May, 2007. Since graduating, she has had additional training in dental implants, IV sedation treatment, Invisalign, and extensive cosmetic procedures. She currently resides in Cumming, GA and is married and has two beautiful little girls. She joined Platinum Dental Group Gainesville, LLC in October, 2009. It is her goal to provide excellence in dental care and to build long term relationships with all of her patients.
J. Wellesley Lewis, D.M.D.

Dr. J. Wellesley Lewis is a native of Decatur, Georgia. She graduated from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia with a B.S. in biology. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia. She maintains memberships with the American Dental Association and the Georgia Dental Association. Dr. Lewis enjoys providing her patients with high quality dental care in a friendly and caring environment.

As a junior in high school, I entered a vocational office training program. Little did I know at that time the impact this decision would have on my career path. In this program, a student had classes in the morning and worked in professional offices in the afternoon. My first job was in a dental office and I immediately became fascinated with dentistry and loved the interaction with patients and their dental needs. Even I was amazed at my passion for learning all aspects of dentistry from front office duties to actual patient care.
After graduation, I worked in many different areas of dentistry, including front office, insurance, and chair side assisting. Then, in 1991, I graduated from the Gainesville State College/Lanier Technical School dental hygiene program. Since graduation, I have provided dental hygiene care for patients in general dentistry and periodontal specialty practices. It is this experience and passion for my profession that I brought to Platinum Dental Group in June of 2004. It is my ongoing commitment to pursue continuing education in all aspects of dentistry and to provide excellent dental hygiene care for our patients. I look forward to meeting you at your next visit!

My name is Lisa Aydin and I was born and raised in the great state of Georgia. I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/Professional Sales in 2006. I currently reside in Braselton, GA and have been working for Platinum Dental Group since January, 2009.
I am proud to work for a company who cares for its employees just as much as we care for our patients. We take pride in providing excellent customer service and personalized dental treatment to each and every patient. My staff and I look forward to meeting you and your family in the near future!

Hello! I’m Shan; what a pleasure to meet you! I have been involved in orthodontics for thirteen years. My initial training was in Jacksonville, Florida, where I lived for eight years while my husband was in the Navy. I’ve been working at Platinum Dental Group and Gwinnett Children’s Dentistry for a little over four years now. I’m knowledgeable of all aspects of orthodontics and most of the other areas of our practice. I love to help people and will try to assist you with whatever you need. I love to see the patients, kids, parents, and friends when they come to their appointments. We laugh, have fun, and get down to business!
